The Ramp Rescue Initiative is Knott 4 Gotten's planned reentry program designed to support justice-involved individuals during the critical transition from incarceration back into the community. Through peer support, essential resources, transportation, short-term stabilization, and coordinated connections to treatment and recovery services. Ramp Rescue is being built to help individuals move from release towards stability, and recovery, and long term sucess.
How Ramp Rescue is Designed to Work
From release through long-term recovery, Ramp Rescue is designed as a coodinated pathway of support.
The Critical First 24-72 Hours
The first 24–72 hours following release can be one of the most critical periods in a person’s transition back into the community. Individuals may leave incarceration facing immediate challenges involving transportation, housing, basic necessities, treatment connections, supervision requirements, and recovery support. Ramp Rescue is being designed to meet individuals at this critical transition point with peer support, essential resources, transportation, short-term stabilization, and coordinated connections to treatment and recovery services—helping create a safer, more structured pathway forward.
Support at the Point of Release
Ramp Rescue is being designed to provide practical, immediate support beginning at the point of release. Each planned response is intended to reduce barriers, create stability, and help individuals stay connected to their recovery plan during the critical transition back into the community.
Release Pick-up & Transportation
Planned transportation beginning at release, helping individuals reach a safe destination and connect with the next step in their recovery plan.
Essential Reentry Kit
Basic essentials provided at release, including a backpack, hygiene items, basic clothing, cell phone, and other immediate necessities to help individuals begin their transition with dignity and stability.
Safe Spot First 24-72 Hours
Short-term stabilization in a safe, supportive enviornment, providing individuals time to rest, regroup, address immediate needs, and prepare for the next step in their recovery
Recovery Reentry Planning
Individualized planning focused on immediate needs, treatment connections, supervision requirements, appointments, and the next steps needed to support stability and continued recovery.
Warm Handoff to Treatment & Recovery Services
Planned coordination with treatment providers, recovery programs, and supportive services to help individuals move directly into the next stage of their recovery plan. Whenever possible, Ramp Rescue will provide a personal connection rather than simply a referral-helping ensure individuals arrive, connect, and know what comes next.
Treatment & Recovery Housing
Coordinated connections to treatment, recovery housing, sober living, and other community-based services designed to provide continued structure and support beyond the initial reentry period. Ramp Rescue will work to help individuals transition into an environment that supports recovery, accountability, and long-term stability.
Long-Term Recovery
The goal of Ramp Rescue extends beyond the first days following the release. Through continued peer support, recovery connections, and coordinated community resources, individuals will be encouraged to built stability, strengthen their recovery, and move toward greater independence. The long-term goal is not simply successful reentry, but helping individuals build a life they want to continue moving forward with.
